Before you choose a program
Ask how the provider assesses your needs, who delivers care, what services are offered, and how follow-up works. SAMHSA’s quality treatment guidance is a useful starting point for evaluating these questions.
Get cost and coverage answers from both the provider and your insurer when applicable. Treat “we accept insurance” as the beginning of a conversation, not a price guarantee.
If you need support now
In the U.S., call or text 988 for crisis support. For a life-threatening emergency, call 911. A directory or question list is not an emergency service.
