Wood Marchant from College of Charleston Throws a Sober Bash

Zane Waxman (Jeff McClusky & Associates) and Wood Marchant (Director of the CRP at C of C) celebrating after a successful (and dance-filled) event

Wood Marchant of the College of Charleston’s Collegiate Recovery Program helped put on a musical celebration of campus recovery called the “Sober Bash.”

The music for the event was provided by two excellent bands, City on Down and Atlas Road Crew, who both wanted to offer support to recovery on campus at C of C. In the center of campus at the Stern Center Gardens, students from the CRP gathered with members of the Charleston recovery community and the general student body at C of C to enjoy music, hear stories from students in long-term recovery, and celebrate the success of the program.

Isaac, one of the students who helped create the CRP at College of Charleston, speaks to the crowd about his experiences with recovery and the importance of the CRP for his college experience.

The event was produced in part by Jeff McClusky & Associates (JMA), a music promotion firm in Chicago that has been committed to bringing music and recovery together at CRPs across the country. JMA has supported similar events at Vanderbilt. Jeff is an avid VRS supporter, and an active parent advocate nationally in the CRC community. JMA is always open to supporting CRPs looking to bring musical events on to their programming (for more information on collaboration with JMA, please email or call their office line, 773-938-1212).
